Received our court date today. In a few weeks we can get another shiny new piece of legal documentation!
We'll have to remember how much fun this is the next time we catch her writing on the wall with crayons... heh...

Kaia's a few weeks past two years old now... she's been in-country approximately 14 months and does not seem to react unusually to Chinese language or Asian faces. I'm guessing that means the acclimation is going well.
Most of the time she's smiling and very happy, especially when greeting people on the street - she's normally very sociable, though there are a few folks that she shies away from a bit. Occasionally she gets VERY frustrated at being told no - she still will retreat to her room corner for a crying spell but comes back out after a short break. She also gets frustrated and complains when we have to correct rough play on her part - she has a tendency to hit and push the boys (and some other kids).
Her spoken language skills are improving slowly, a few words here and there ("cookie" and "Dora" among the most recent) but she clearly understands a great deal. Yesterday she nodded her head twice in response to questions, very deliberately. She's still fascinated by TV... Dora continues to be a show that will draw her in from all rooms of the house.
The nosebleeds continue, with three so far this last week plus. Thankfully most of them are minor and she seems to be less upset by them - she comes to show us when she has blood (or other messy things - eww - on her fingers).
Both boys continue to be very helpful for the most part - they're kids after all - with no real jealousy being displayed; would that the cats were so well behaved. Dividing quality time among three kids is, um, challenging to say the least.
