Kaia's Quest

Kaia has taken 1 or 2 unsupported steps on more than a half-dozen occasions, and she's become remarkably more vocal over the last week or so - not that she's ever been particularly quiet, but she's been making much more "conversational babble" and definitely wants to communicate something via speech. She loves to repeat a sound resembling her name - "Kaia-Kaia-Kaia" with a lot of happy giggles. She's been comfortable with us since the beginning but she shows more signs of bonding daily - she reaches for Amy now when she's in distress.
Amy brought her and the boys to EMC last Friday - everyone wanted to see the baby, but it sure put a crimp in the day's productivity. This past Wednesday, Amy took her to get her ears pierced, and we bought some earrings yesterday - no diamonds yet though, couldn't find any we liked.
Next week is her 1st birthday, and a couple cookouts at the house...
