24 hours of uncertainty, because of the unclear CCAA announcement regarding adoption "suspensions", have been resolved. A revised statement from CCAA was issued today; those with travel authorizations can travel and proceed. Bad luck for the folks still waiting. Our LAX-Guangzhou leg was upgraded to Premium Economy today; another small piece of good news. 14 days and counting...

Travel arrangements are being set - still don't know what class of seating, but we'll be departing Boston on 05/30 at 5:25pm and arriving in ChangSha (via GuangZhou) on 06/01 at 3:30pm local time. Oooooo - long trip... but not as bad as it could have been. Short layover in LA, but long layover in GuangZhou. Wonder if they have a theme park... not. Returning to Boston on June 13 at 9:35pm. Clock's a-rolling....

Back up the roller coaster... New consulate date of Wednesday, 06/11; child-meeting appointment of 06/02! Looks like we'll be traveling a bit earlier than we thought (like the 29th or 30th). Flights are getting to Guangzhou but not direct from LAX; I can only imagine what the trip is going to route through... Expedia tonight lists such heady intermediate stops as Vancouver, London, Chicago... hard to say where we'll end up going thru. Hope Glenn is good at this...
